How Family Ride Memberships Work

Everything you need to know about ride credits, sibling discounts, billing cadence, and how we protect your recurring schedule.

Fundamentals

1. What a ride credit means

One ride credit equals one one-way trip for a single household — pickup at one location and drop-off at another. A round trip (for example, home → school → home) uses two ride credits.

  • Siblings riding together in the same vehicle on the same trip use one credit.
  • Credits are tied to your household account, not to a specific child.
  • Concierge trips are billed as concierge trips (see section 4), not standard credits.
  • Extra stops added mid-route may consume an additional credit if they change the destination.
Plan structure

2. Weekly plans

Weekly plans reset every Monday at 12:00 AM ET. They're ideal for families with a consistent Monday–Friday school or activity schedule.

Weekly plan tiers

3. Monthly plans

Monthly plans are calculated on a four-week cycle and reset on your billing anniversary. They offer the same ride cadence as weekly plans with a small per-ride discount for committing to a full month.

4. Concierge plans

Concierge trips include wait-and-return service, direct dispatch communication, and priority driver assignment. Each concierge trip is billed at $75 and includes wait time as noted per plan.

Concierge plan tiers

Concierge trips are separate from standard one-way credits.

5. Sibling discounts

When multiple children in the same household enroll in a membership, we apply an automatic discount to each additional child's plan:

  • 1st child: full membership price.
  • 2nd child: 20% off that child's membership.
  • 3rd child: 30% off that child's membership. 4+ children: Custom Family Rate.

Siblings riding together on the same trip only use one ride credit — the discount applies when siblings need their own memberships (for example, different schools or non-overlapping schedules).

Payments

6. Billing cadence

  • Weekly plans are billed every Monday for the upcoming week.
  • Monthly plans are billed on your enrollment anniversary each month.
  • Concierge plans follow the same weekly cadence as weekly standard plans.
  • All charges appear as "Transporting The Future" on your statement.
  • Failed payments pause new ride requests until resolved; existing scheduled rides in the current period continue.
  • Weekly reserved seats follow the Membership & Reserved Ride Policy (section 7), including the payment deadline and suspension rules.
Payments

7. Membership & reserved ride policy

Enrollment in a TTF membership reserves transportation for the agreed-upon days and times. Families are responsible for the full weekly transportation fee for that reserved schedule, regardless of whether every reserved ride is used.

  • Full payment is due each Friday for the following service week. Payment must cover all reserved rides; partial payment does not secure the weekly reservation.
  • Absences, skipped rides, and last-minute schedule changes do not reduce the weekly fee. Any ongoing changes to the reserved schedule must be requested in advance and confirmed by TTF.
  • If payment is not received by Friday, transportation may be suspended and the reserved seat may be released. Service may resume once payment is received, subject to availability.
Using your plan

8. Scheduling & rollover

  • Members receive priority scheduling ahead of non-member requests.
  • Membership reserves your approved days and times.
  • Your family is responsible for the full weekly transportation fee for the reserved schedule, even when a reserved ride is not used.
  • Schedule requests for the following week must be submitted by Thursday and require route approval.
  • Payment is due the Friday before the service week. There is no separate membership enrollment fee.
  • Unused credits do not roll over to the next period — they're sized to your typical week.
  • Additional rides require approval and are billed separately at the applicable rate, unless covered by an approved membership change.
Flexibility

9. Cancellations & pauses

  • Individual rides may be cancelled up to 2 hours before pickup without using a credit.
  • Late cancellations (under 2 hours) or no-shows consume one ride credit.
  • Full cancellation requires 7 days' notice before your next billing date. No partial refunds for a period already billed.
Flexibility

Membership Pause & Seat Reservation Policy

  • Members may request a pause for up to four consecutive weeks, subject to TTF approval.
  • Requests must be submitted at least seven days before the pause begins, with a confirmed return date.
  • During an approved pause, the family pays 50% of its regular weekly membership rate, including existing sibling discounts, to reserve the children's seats and existing schedule. Example: a family paying $247 per week pays $123.50 per week during the approved pause.
  • The reservation fee replaces the regular membership charge for approved paused weeks. Families are never charged both.
  • Payment remains due the Friday before each service week, using the card on file.
  • Reservation fees do not include rides and are not credited toward future transportation.
  • Regular membership billing automatically resumes on the approved return date.
  • Individual missed rides, same-day cancellations, and absences without an approved pause remain subject to the regular membership and cancellation policies.
  • A pause does not cancel the membership or waive its three-month minimum service commitment. Paused weeks do not count toward that minimum.
  • Families who discontinue payment release their reserved seats; returning service is subject to availability.

This policy applies to pauses requested after you acknowledge it. Your existing rates, sibling discounts, and all other membership terms stay the same.

Approval

10. Route review & availability

All memberships are subject to route review before enrollment. Because we protect same-driver preference and on-time performance, membership routes are capacity-limited. If your requested schedule falls outside our current coverage window we'll offer the closest match or place you on a priority waitlist.

Fine print

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect for current members. Continued use of your membership after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
